Youth Venture

First, we didn't know if we would have to file taxes. Being a profit organization and thinking we would be making over a couple grand, we've decided that we will be filing taxes. We are planning on registering with the state sometime in the near future. Second, we wanted to work with artists on their projects this summer, but we didn't have any takers at the end of the school year. Hopefully we will spark some interest and find some artists during the summer. If not we'll have to wait until the next school year begins. Third, our business plan was awesome, but it was not based on reality. We thought we'd be able to do all these things in a certain amount of time, but it just didn't work out that way. We're still trying to work on things we wanted to have done in March. It's very stressful. We're duing the best we can.

We have dealt with many challenges. The first of which we was having members come and go out of our venture because of graduation and other complications. The second was personal conflicts due to lack of communication. We also had artists, but due to moving, college, school, and other conflicts most deals fell through. Another problem we faced was our contacts. Some of our contacts that we were working with just drop contact all together an stopped responding to our e-mails or messages. On top of all these hardships, our original ally had a serious family situation that caused her to move out of state. This made it impossible for her to carry out her duties as our ally. Our champion resigned and became our ally. Another set back, which has given the whole city of Nashua problems, is the problem with teachers' contracts. Because teachers haven't had contracts for two years many have decided not to participate in after-school activities (such as clubs). Or ally has done all she can to help us, but it is just a very tough time for everyone.
